Tusk & Quill’s 2026 Winter Seminar and 2nd Annual Contributor’s Retreat on January 24th-25th features a series of sessions exploring topics discussed in our recently released collection, ‘Life in the Scroll Age.’ The sessions, ranging from presentations to workshops, are designed around the important endeavors for ‘living well’ that are embodied by our four segments: Culture, Discourse, Community and Well-Being.

Session 1 (Saturday, January 24th, 10:00 AM–11:30 AM)
Interview with an industry expert exploring the evolution of the media landscape, particularly with respect to the relationship between bias and neutrality in the face of technological, economic and political pressure. Includes audience Q&A, followed by group discussion. Snacks provided.

Session 2 (Saturday, January 24th, 11:30 AM–3:00 PM)
Debate workshop designed to deepen understanding of the nuances of communicating across differing worldviews, elevate the rigor and integrity of debates through Tusk & Quill’s “license to argue” method and collectively contemplate a tech policy related to the regulation of the attention economy. Lunch provided.

Contributors’ Circle (Sunday, January 25th, 10:00 AM12:00 PM)
Invite-only, breakfast included.

Session 3 (Sunday, January 25th, 1:30 PM–3:30 PM)

Interview and Q&A with Peter Schmidt, Program Coordinator for the Strother School of Radical Attention, discussing the school’s operations and the broader philosophy and practice of “attention activism.” Followed by an outdoor group activity.

Session 4 (Sunday, January 25th, 5:00 PM–7:00 PM)
Panel discussion and experience sharing around select participants’ “intermittent information fasting” experiment.
